This is the stuff that living in Berlin is all about. A solid night of experimental art, music and performance, in a room with heaps of people who appreciate it, all together until the drink runs out and the sun comes up.
Opening the night is a performance piece from Kate Donovan and Ryan Karolidis entitled “Twilight claps and thunders“, some kind of fusion between analogue light projections and sound synthesisations.
Next up comes a noise performance from Theodoros Klissiaris, who if you’re a local musician at all, you might know as being one of the only guys in Berlin capable of constructing distortion pedals to spec. Which is pretty amazing on it’s own.
The night’s headlined by 22, a free jazz experimental 4 piece with Pablo Juanes leadng two drummers and two sax players. Who knows what these guys are going to come up with, but whatever it is that becomes the final product, it’s going to demand your complete attention. You can check out a bunch of lovely, but unsettling, earlier compositions from Pablo here: http://www.pablo-juanes.net/
Closing the night, or kicking off the morning, depending on how you roll, Zoo presents an art rave DJ and VJ set from DJ L.A.A. and Valentina Besegher, taste the madness here: http://www.besegher.com/pages/marryklein.htm.
